This study explored ways to enhance individual reflection in the Serious Game uMed: Your Choice, used in medical education. Using a participatory, mixed-methods approach, eight feature concepts were developed. Based on student surveys, lecturer input, and feasibility, three features were prototyped and tested: in-game reflection notes, feedback on point allocation, and a retrospective quick run-through. All were positively received. A Socratic ChatBot for guided reflection was also positively evaluated. In-game features must be carefully designed with attention to clarity, tone, and timing. Supplementary teaching tools can further strengthen the connection between gameplay and group-based reflection.
