MyBeFit – Everyday exercise for people with rheumatism - A concept design for regional healthcare in the Perspektivenverbund network
People with rheumatic diseases face the challenge of implementing international exercise recommendations in their everyday lives. These recommendations need to be translated into everyday terms by trained professionals, such as physical therapists. Rheumatism encompasses various chronic inflammatory or degenerative diseases that lead to pain, restricted movement, and loss of function. To manage their symptoms in the long term, those affected benefit from advice, education, and targeted guidance.
MyBeFit aims to establish a participatory counseling service at the ZHAW – within the Community Health network in the Winterthur area and with the support of the Digital Health Design Living Lab (DHDLL). The focus is on individual assessment, needs-based exercise instruction, and evidence-based support from healthcare students. Future MyBeFit coaches are trained in an interprofessional training concept based on a human-centered design approach involving midwives, occupational therapists, and other specialists.
