Age is often used to categorizepeople, leading to disadvantage and injustice, and undermining solidaritybetween generations. In such cases, we speak of ageism. The term encompassesstereotypes (how we think), prejudice (how we feel), and discrimination (how weact) towards others or ourselves based on age.
In our research project, we invitepeople in Switzerland to share their real-life experiences of agediscrimination, as well as positive experiences of age diversity. We analyzethese accounts to gain a better understanding of the phenomenon in Switzerlandand to develop strategies to combat it.
On our online platform, interestedindividuals can learn more about age discrimination through e-learning modules. We follow a participatory approach and aim to build a community that supportsone another in taking a stand against age discrimination.
